Jacket Drafting Fundamentals - Basic Module

This course is designed for aspiring individuals looking to acquire a specialty in jackte drafting, through learning and honing the fundamental basics before moving to highly specialised advance bespoke jacket drafting. Having a strong fundamental allows for a smooth and efficient ascension to a higher level.

Min/Max Participants: 3 - 5 Individuals.

Course Fees: $1380.

8 Sessions: 2 hours+ per session. (Twice each week in the evenings)

Course and tools Requirement: English language proficiency. Tailor L-ruler, tailor curve ruler, straight ruler (preferably 18-20 inches). Further information on tools will be provided prior to commencement of course.

Course Materials:

  1. Drafting Paper x7 (Purchasable at Venue)

  2. Cutting Fabric of 2m x1 (Purchasable at Venue)

Course Overview:

  1. Measurement System, development and refining of jacket back panel.

  2. Development and refining of jacket front panel.

  3. Development and refining of jacket side panel.

  4. Development of top-sleeve & under-sleeve.

  5. Course assessment for full basic jacket development. Post-course pattern study and refine.

  6. Laying pattern on fabric, understanding allowance.

    Live cutting & marking, preparing for prototype build.

  7. Basted prototype building for fitting part I.

  8. Basted prototype building for fitting part II.

    Live fitting demo + revisit course content with Q&A.

Course Objectives:

  • At the end of the course, you will be able to develop basic jacket draft for the standard male body type.

  • Post-course consultation support will be provided.
